Happy Together's Late Night Cafeteria

I Went to the Salon Meets Aglio E Olio Spaghetti

After watching Korean drama Pasta, I got hooked into the world of everything pasta again. I even made an urgent trip to a spaghetti restaurant to have my fix. Just so happen Happy Together’s Late Night Cafeteria segment has a spaghetti recipe I’ve been wanting to try for so long. Finally took the chance up. This recipe didn’t make it into the winning Late Night Cafeteria hall of fame. Never mind. It’s a great idea no matter what. I thought Mr Spaghetti looks so cute this way.

What way? This way…

I Went To The Salon
The name of the dish presented by Clara Lee Seong Min 이성민 to Happy Together’s Late Night Cafeteria is I Went To The Salon (미용실 다녀왔어요). It uses 2 simple ingredients: spaghetti and sausages. All you need to do is stick some spaghetti into the sausages. Interesting right? After that it depends what flavor you want to impart into the dish.

I Went To The Salon Meets Aglio E Olio
I choose aglio e olio hence the name of my dish called I Went To The Salon Meets Aglio E Olio. Haha

Let’s cook!

Stick Uncooked Spaghetti Into Each Sausages
Slice the cocktail sausages in half. Then carefully stick a spaghetti into the sausage halved.

Cute Isn't It
Repeat until you have stick about 8-10 spaghetti into a sausage. You can stick less or more. Your liking. Repeat with the rest of the spaghetti and sausages.

Ohmygosh it’s real… my spaghetti went to the salon. Hahaha

Cook I Went To The Salon Spaghetti
Cook the pasta following the method provided by the spaghetti packet. Once done, drain and set the pasta aside. Keep some pasta water for later use.

Slice garlic and finely chop the parsley. You can also roughly chop the garlic. Your choice.

Saute Garlic
Saute the garlic until just turn golden. Add some chili flakes (optional) and cook for a minute more.

Turn off the heat, then add the cooked pasta, pasta water, 2 tablespoons olive oil and parsely. Mix well. Lastly add Parmigiano-Reggiano and toss well. Serve with extra servings of Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Isn’t it fun? Isn’t it cute? It really does open up my appetite. 🙂
The fact that I love aglio e olio make it more worthwhile.

Yeah you won’t know what it means by the title. Still it’s an awesome idea to cook spaghetti right? 😉

I saw the title and thought it sounded familiar XD. After watching Pasta, and Bambino, I was on a major pasta kick. Wanted all the pasta.
THIS seems ingenious. Putting spaghetti pasta through sausages?!?!? Two of my greatest loves combined at last!!! I must try this…..

and what if u add some cherry tomatoes to cooked with the sauce… would the sweetness in tomatoes changed the flavor of the olive oil and garlic?

I think it would changed the flavor. You can cook which ever way you want. Just so happen I choose to cook with garlic and olive oil.

hi regarding the chilli, I’ve seen some people used red pepper chili, japanese chili, peperoncino, chili flakes etc but I’m not sure what kind of chilli to use? I have some japanese chilli pepper and and some mexican red chili pepper. There are tons of chili peppers so I can’t recognize the which one is the peperoncino, so if I can’t find the peperoncino, what kind of chili should I used to substitute peperoncino? And which would be the best replacement… the japanese or mexican chili pepper? What would the flavor be like? So many questions sorry & thanks

Hi Beth, you can use regular chili flakes, Japanese or Mexican chili pepper. As for the taste, I guess you would have to experiment and see which one you like best.
