Pan Fried Turmeric & Paprika Salmon

This week, let’s continue with my love for turmeric and paprika. I’ve always like turmeric and paprika and the reason why I’ve been utilizing them more than usual is because my sis and dad both bought an extra bottle each due to miscommunication. Hehe. Since turmeric can reduce cancer risk and paprika is full of anti-oxidant, there are no harm in adding them in my regular cooking. Tsk, I’ll be trying out turmeric powder with my dog too.

I told you before I got tired of the usual pan fry salmon. That’s how I came up with this steamed salmon with mushrooms recipe. And now for this version, I decided to add turmeric and paprika to the salmon and pan fry it. Just a little twist to an otherwise simple dish. Hope you like it.

Let’s cook!

Boiling Vegetables
Once water is boiling in a saucepan, add french beans and carrots. Boil for about 3 minutes and then sieve them out.

Rub Mixture On Salmon
In a small bowl, add 2 teaspoons oil, paprika and turmeric powder. Mix well. Then, rub the mixture all over the salmon. Leave the salmon aside.

Stir Fry Mushrooms & Vegetables
In a non-stick pan, saute the mushrooms with 2 teaspoons of oil. Add pinch of salt and pepper. Next, add the boiled vegetables and stir fry for about 2 minutes. Transfer to a plate.

Pan Fry Salmon
In the same non-stick pan, add 1 teaspoon of oil. Place salmon skin side down and pan fry for about 3-5 minutes. Then turn over the salmon and cook for 2-3 minutes. Place salmon on the cooked vegetables and mushrooms. That’s it. Simple.

Hi Medeja, I’m a fan of salmon too but I can’t take too often because of the smell. Haha

I am not too keen on salmon either because of the fishy smell. I have not given turmeric powder to Chase yet, trying to find ways to hide it in his food. However I have given him coconut oil and he loves it.

Hi Dawn, hi-5… yeah the fishy smell.

I usually put turmeric powder in Chester’s steamed veggies. Ohh I’ve heard about other pet owners giving coconut oil to their dogs. I will check it out to see what are the benefits. Currently I’m feeding him yogurt and ACV to fight his stubborn yeast infection.
