After a tiresome, hungry and slightly disappointed afternoon on day 4 in Taiwan (I’ll tell you what it was later in another post here), we proceed to the nearby Eslite Xinyi Store for lunch. Our main agenda was TKK Fried Chicken 頂呱呱 (ting kua kua), a famous Taiwanese fast food fried chicken chain restaurants.

Our order. Not much but enough to get us out of starvation until our evening feast later. Hehe
Sweet potato fries 地瓜薯條 @ NT$49. One of TKK specialty is this. They don’t sell french fries.
I expected the sweet potato fries to be crispy/crunchy but they’re not. They’re nearing to soggy-kind-of-stage texture. It feels like eating sweet potato! (Haha) Nothing special.
Gold nuggets (chicken snack) 黃金雞塊 @ NT$55.
Gold nuggets are bite-sized chicken. You can call it popcorn chicken if you want. They’re okay.
Chicken drumstick 大雞腿 @ NT$49. Looks good eh?
I was salivating but the first bite was disappointing and so was the next and next. The chicken was so overcooked. The outer layer was so tough and the spices did not infuse into the meat. 🙁
All in all, the lunch was a let down. I’m eager to try another TKK shop the next time I’m in Taiwan though. One thing, the staffs were friendly and I love the orange-yellow theme.
