I’ve passed by Imperial Restaurant a great deal of time but never really bother to drop in. Main reason is because it looks expensive. Hahaha All this changes when we tried their yee sang during Chinese New Year. Our usual yee sang place is at Tai Thong. This year we tried the yee sang at Imperial and Hai Tien Lo (not good). I’m don’t fancy Tai Thong’s yee sang therefore I usually have little part of it however the yee sang at Imperial… what can I say? It’s damn heavenly!!!
The sauce and ingredients mixture was just perfect, not too sweet, not too sour, and not over-powering. Then we have another round of yee sang from Imperial before the 15th day of CNY. That speaks a lot. Best ever yee sang I ever had so far.
Anyway we found ourself at Imperial recently for my dad’s birthday. Since it was his big day, we have him choose the dishes.
Braised pork belly @ RM15.00.
Definitely my dad’s fav. I don’t fancy fatty skin plus I stopped eating pork for awhile now. Family said it was good.
Baked cod fish in claypot @ RM60.00.
This is everyone’s favorite. It was cooked to perfection.
Nai pak with crab meat & shark fin roe @ RM16.00.
Tasty! Found only a small portion of crab meat though.
Baked chicken with Chinese herbs (1/2 chicken) @ RM25.00.
Not my favorite. We were expecting a full-formed half chicken… not like this.
Didn’t fancy the herbal soup either but dad like it.
Overall the prices are reasonable and service is good. The place wasn’t full that night and we waited about 25 minutes for food to arrive. The interior is beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Would go back to try other dishes. Oh yeah they serve dim sum in the morning and I would love to try that as well.
This restaurant is near to Jusco Bukit Tinggi. Do try this restaurant if you’re there shopping.
