Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant @ Taman Bayu Tinggi, Klang

This is actually my 2nd visit to Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant. The first visit wasn’t a pleasant one. I didn’t like the fish served as it has this ‘longkang’/’drain’ smell. Haha. However my mom like it very much and she’s been talking about going there again. I thought I’ll give this restaurant another chance seeing my mom’s enthusiasm plus I want my dad to try the steam fish.

This time I wasn’t disappointed. 🙂

In the early days when this restaurant has just opened its business, there weren’t many patrons.

Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant
Look at it now… almost full house. Go early if you want to avoid the crowds and waiting.

Starting this year, I make it a point to eat more vegetables. That is to order 2 vegetables dishes instead of 1. So far so good.

Stir Fried Broccoli @ Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant
Here we have stir-fried broccoli ‘cheng chau’ @ RM6.00. Not bad.

Stir Fried Kailan @ Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant
Stir-fried kailan ‘cheng chau’ @ RM6.00. Not my favorite vegetable. Some parts are bitter.

Stuffed Taufu @ Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant
Stuffed taufu with pork @ RM8.00. My mom’s favorite.

Small Shell Lala @ Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant
We ordered large shell lala previously so this time we have the small shell lala @ RM5.00. The lalas are too small to enjoy. Haha

And now for the main star…

Fermented Bean Paste Steamed Fish Head @ Hoong Ing Steam Fish Restaurant
Fermented bean paste/tauchu steamed fish head @ RM22.00. This dish is REALLY GOOD. The fish is fresh & tender (no fishy smell). The fermented bean paste is a little spicy, perfect choice! Love it. Love it. Love it.

Rice + Chinese tea @ RM9.00

The total bill came to RM56.00 for 4 persons.
I say this is one of the most affordable place for yummy steamed fish.
