After Primrose Bakery we head to our lunch at the famous The Rock & Sole Plaice on day 2 of our trip, one of the top 10 fish and chips place in London (so they say).
Our order: Cod with chips @ £13.50 (foreground), hot chocolate @ £2.50, Plaice with chips @ £13.50, tea @ £2.00. Not cheap but very big portion. I would suggest ordering a plate for 2 persons if you’re not a big eater like me. Just so you know eating in is way way pricier than take-away. So take your pick.
Note: Sprinkle some salt and vinegar over the fish and chips as it’s a traditional way to eat it in UK.
I don’t like the chips (wedges more like it). As for the cod, it was okay. Nothing to shout about. I don’t fancy the thick crust. Overall it’s a little greasy and I think because of the greasiness, I felt a little unwell 1/4 into my lunch. My sis on the other hand managed to finished her plaice. She said yummmy. I had to take-away the rest of my fish and chips as I wasn’t able to finish it and with the unwell business.
I reheated my leftovers later that night at the YHA where I was staying. Found the fish to be better than when I had it at the restaurant but it wasn’t the best though. I’ve had better ones in Malaysia. For the amount I paid (a whopping £31.50 for 2 person), don’t think it’s worth it. The restaurant was pleasant looking though.
Tell you what, I didn’t dare to order anymore fish and chips in my remaining stay in London. LOL.

I suppose eating-in is pricier due to the dishes they need to wash!
I cannot eat too much fish and chips either…too much oil makes me sick to the stomach.
Ya kua. Keke
This one has very thick batter so making it even sicker.
