I love going to market of the place I visit during my holiday. For London, Borough Market is my no. 1 choice. Ahh the joy of browsing through the fresh produce and delicious food… It’s one of the way to get to know the people and place!
Saw this stall with lots of people waiting. Food must be good hence we decided to have our ‘standing’ breakfast here. The stall name is Kappacasein.
This is an equipment to melt cheese.
So that afterward it is placed on top of a plate of boiled/roasted potatoes, pickled onions and baby gherkins. This type of dish is called raclette – a traditional Swiss dish. And because Ogleshield cheese is used, the dish is named Ogleshield Raclette.
Behold our yummy plate of Ogleshield Raclette. Cost £5 per plate.
This is my first time eating pickled onions and baby gherkins. Well it’s not bad. Haha Those two combined with the cheese and potatoes is a heavenly mix. Delicious! The cheese is quite mild.
Kappacasein is also renowned for its toasted cheese sandwich. It’s said to be the best cheese sandwich in London. Well, I’ll make sure I try it when I visit London again.
Opening time of Kappacasein at Borough Market:
Thursdays, 11am – 5pm
Fridays, 11am – 6pm

Note: Kappacasein is located at Green Market area (under the rail bridge)
