I usually pan-fry my salmon fillet but I got tired of it. So I tried steaming the salmon one day and it was so good. I usually prepare the ingredients in the foil a day beforehand. On the day itself, I just need to add lemon juice and steam it. Super easy for lazy busy people. Not only that, it’s super healthy and delicious too. All the goodness like the steam juice captured inside the sealed foil… ohh heavenly.
Yum-yum!
Let’s steammmmm!!!
Prepare a large enough aluminium foil for the salmon and put in on a flat surface or plate.
Place salmon on the foil. Add mushrooms, cilantro, garlic, shallot and red chilies surrounding the fish. Sprinkle salt and pepper and drizzle with lemon juice.
Seal up the foil nicely and steam for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm. So easy right?
Healthy steamed salmon with mushrooms – so full of flavor!
Tell me, do you love steamed salmon?
Healthy Steamed Salmon with Mushrooms
Serves 1
1 salmon fillet
a handful mushroom (I use brown beech mushroom/bunashimeji)
1 1/2 teaspoon cilantro, chopped
1~2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 shallot, chopped (I usually add this but not in this recipe photo because I ran out of shallot that day)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon red chilies, deseeded and chopped
1/8~1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1. Prepare a large enough aluminium foil to wrap the salmon. Place foil on a flat surface or plate.
2. Place salmon fillet on the foil surrounded with mushrooms, cilantro, garlic, shallot and red chilies.
3. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the fillet and mushrooms. Drizzle the fillet with lemon juice. Seal the foil at all corners.
4. Steam for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm.
Enjoy!

Believe it or not I have not pan fry salmon before! I baked them or steam it in the oven like how you wrap the fillet with foil. If salmon is not that expensive I would have it every week! 😀
Hi Dawn, as for me I’ve never baked a salmon before. At least I’ve tried steaming them. Oh yeah me too. I would eat it every week.
