Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats

Can’t believe I rarely make dog treats for my dog. I guess the word lazy is the main culprit. Anyway, I chanced upon this good-looking recipe from Damn Delicious one fine day and so far I’ve baked it twice already using my own adaptation. Chester loves it of course. I even gave some to my neighbor’s dog that is really fierce but mellow down once I handed the homemade dog treats to him. Weeee!

Homemade peanut butter pumpkin dog treats.

Let’s bake.

Ingredients For Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats
Mix pumpkin, peanut butter and whole wheat flour with a spatula. Or you can use your bare hand like me! Then knead the dough for about 1-2 minutes. Use crunchy peanut butter if you have them because your dog will thank you for it. If not, use fine peanut butter.

Cut Into Desired Shapes
Roll dough into 0.5cm thickness with a rolling pin. Then cut into desired shapes and placed on baking tray. I’m using a dog bone cookie cutter which I bought from Ebay many moons back.

Ready For Baking
Using the small dog bone cookie cutter, I get about 50 pieces.

Ready For Baking
For large dog bone cookie cutter, I make 8 pieces. All these are taken before going into oven.

Bake at 175oC for about 20 minutes. That’s it… very easy. 😉

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats
These can last for about 2~3 weeks.

Check out my silly golden retriever’s expression. Basically he’s in cloud 9.

Method:
1. In a bowl, mix peanut butter, pumpkin & whole what flour with a spatula.

2. Knead the dough so that everything come together. If the dough is too wet, add more flour. If dough is too dry, you can add more pumpkin.

4. Cut into desired shape using cookies cutters and placed on a baking tray lined with baking paper or silicon mat.

Hope your furry pal like it!

Hi Benny, looks good but taste wise quite bland. No sugar and salt added ma but it has the aroma of peanut butter.

I should get my butt to work on these cookies for Chase. I have been cutting down on his food intake, the fei zhai now getting mighty hungry all the time. Maybe I should just steam the pumpkin with some garlic for him.
