Holla everybody. I’m so happy because I finally bought an ice-cream maker. You don’t know for how long I’ve been wanting to buy one. Years… man. Yearssssss!!! It’s not that all ice-cream makers are expensive. Some are quite affordable but it took me so long to decide. I guess I wanted it very badly but it’s not something I need. I can live without it. Haha
Anyway I recently obtained some Aeon vouchers from my credit card points and I used that to get an ice-cream maker. I choose Kenwood because that’s the only one I can afford.
Kenwood IM280 ice-cream maker 1.5L @ RM269.00.
I bought it during sale with 5% off. After discount: RM255.55.
Aeon voucher valued at RM240.00. In the end I paid RM15.55.
Woooohooo!!! Now isn’t this a smart purchase? Kekeke
Top L to R: Outer bowl and freezer bowl
Bottom L to R: Paddle, power unit and lid
I’m cute ain’t I?
For this ice-cream maker to work, we need to freeze the freezer bowl at least 24 hours. And before it can be washed, the freezer bowl need to go down to room temperature. Yup it’s a bit hassle here and there but I don’t mind.
One of my problem is I’ve no place to keep this machine. It’s now sitting on my dining table waiting faithfully for a place to rest and sleep. No worry Mr Cutie, I’ll find a place for you soon and before that I need to make some ice-cream off you!
Update:
Nearly a year later, I found this crack at the freezer bowl. At that time I’ve only used the ice-cream maker once for making this vanilla ice-cream. The whole time it was kept in the cabinet.
I also found these (crystalline) at the base of the freezer bowl. I’ve no idea how it happened as I did not scratch or apply force to the bowl.
After several phone calls to Kenwood, I soon found out it’s a leakage and according to them this defect is not under warranty (why????!!!). Unsatisfied with the answer given, I returned the ice-cream maker to Aeon (the place where I bought my ice-cream maker). Over a month later I got a call back telling me my ice-cream maker replacement is here. Never been so happy in my life.

Hi Zinc, I brought the whole set back to AEON together with the warranty card (still under warranty). They replaced it with a new one for me. Free. 🙂
